Cub Scout Sports Swimming 1985: Used by Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts for Skill Award requirements and Academic and Sports belt loop and pin requirements

Boy Scout Skill Awards

Boy Scout skill awards were a set of 12 activity-specific. Metal belt loop awards were introduced in 1972 and provided immediate recognition for basic skills.

Belt Loops were discontinued by 1990. These skills added to the updated Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class rank advancements

The Original 12 Skill Awards (1972-1989):

Camping, Citizenship, Communications, Community Living, Conservation, Cooking, Environment, Family Living, First Aid, Hiking, Physical Fitness, and Swimming.

Cub Scout Sports Belt Loops (1985-2015)

Cub Scout Sports belt loops were a set of 28 activity specific metal belt loops. Sports belt loops provided immediate recognition for sports activities.  Also, the Belt Loops program had pins.

The original Sports Belt Loops were;

Archery, BB-Gun, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Bicycling, Bowling, Fishing, Flag Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Hiking, Hockey, Horseback Riding, Ice Skating, Kickball, Marbles, Physical Fitness, Roller Skating, Snow Ski and Board Sports, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Ultimate, and Volleyball.

Cub Scout Academic Belt Loops (1991-2015)

Cub Scout Academic belt loops were a set of 28 activity specific. Academic belt loops provided immediate recognition for Academic proficiency. Also the Academic Belt Loops program had pins.

The original Academic Belt Loops were; Art, Astronomy, Chess, Citizenship, Collecting, Communicating, Computers, Disability Awareness, Family Travel, Geography, Geology, Good Manners, Heritages, Langue and Culture, Map and Compass, Mathematics, Music, Nutrition, Pet Care, Photography, Reading and Writing, Science, Vedeo Games, Weather, and Wildlife Conservation.

Academic belt loops were replaced by the Adventure Loops and Pins in 2015.

Cub Scout Adventure Belt Loops and Pins (2015 – 2024)

The original Adventure Belt Loops and Pins were;

These belt loops were discontinued in 2022.
