Used
Cooking Merit Badge Type D Fine Twill 1942 – 1946; Worn by Scouts upon completing all the requirements for this Merit Badge
These were made from a lighter weight cloth with a much finer weave and a lighter tan color. The change in material was necessitated by the demand for the heavier cloth during World War II. Other than the fabric, the Type D is the same as Type C. The Type D merit badges are called “fine twill”. They were manufactured from 1942 to 1946. During this period, the blue merit badges were still Type C.
